Weather Alert: U.S. Embassy Muscat, Oman (October 9, 2018)
Location: Southern Oman; possible heavy rains and wind.
Event: Tropical Cyclone Luban is currently strengthening in the Arabian Sea and is expected to move westward through the Gulf of Aden. The storm is not currently expected to make landfall in Oman, but there is the possibility of heavy rains and strong winds in Dhofar and Al Wusta governorates beginning October 10, which could lead to difficult travel conditions.
Actions to Take:
- Avoid travel to affected areas until the storm has dissipated.
- Monitor the local news for updates.
