Stephanie L. Hallett, a career member of the Foreign Service, is the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. Most recently, Ms. Hallett served in Washington as the Deputy Director of the State Department’s Executive Secretariat Staff.
Previously, she served as the Political-Economic Section Chief at the U.S. Embassy in Manama, Bahrain; as the Deputy Political Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt; as a Political Officer in the Office of Iranian Affairs in Washington; as a Watch Officer in the State Department Operations Center in Washington; as a Political-Economic Officer at the U.S. Consulate General in Monterrey, Mexico; and as a Consular Officer at the U.S. Consulate General in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Ms. Hallett also served as a Civil Service employee in the State Department’s Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations in Washington. Ms. Hallett graduated from The George Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and earned an MPhil in European Studies from the University of Cambridge in the UK.
