IVLP: Entrepreneurship in the Fashion Industry

U.S. Embassy Muscat conducted a pre-departure orientation for Ms. Maitha Al Harthi, Owner and Manager, Maitha Al Harthi Trading and Contracting, on November 14, 2019.  Ms. Al Harthi participated in the U.S. Department of State’s sponsored International Visitor Leadership Program on “Entrepreneurship in the Fashion Industry” from November 18 to December 6, 2019.

The “Entrepreneurship in the Fashion Industry” program examined the history and evolution of the U.S. fashion industry; enhanced participants’ understanding of small business development, marketing, branding, and consumer trends; and provided opportunities to network with potential retailers who have interest in importing apparel, footwear, jewelry, and accessories from the Near East and North Africa.  In addition, participants visited fashion houses, magazines, museums, and schools of design.  The program started in Washington, DC, and then participants traveled to New York, Ohio, and California.
