The Results Roll In
U.S. Ambassador Marc J. Sievers and Deputy Chief of Mission Assiya Ashraf-Miller hosted a reception at the Ambassador’s residence on the morning of November 9, to watch the results of the U.S. Presidential Elections. Omani dignitaries, local business and community members, and foreign diplomats gathered around television screens to watch as poll results rolled in gradually across the United States, from Maine to California.
The Ambassador also emphasized that the U.S. is founded on the principle of a peaceful transition of power, and the continuity of our institutions.The United States of America and the Sultanate of Oman will continue to collaborate on areas of mutual interest and benefit to our two nations, including security, economics, and other regional issues.
