The U.S. Embassy congratulates Boeing and Oman Air on the delivery of the first of six Boeing 787 Dreamliners to Oman. As American-made aircraft, the Boeing Dreamliners are able to enter Oman tariff free, due to the Oman-U.S. Free Trade Agreement. Oman Air’s award-winning service, coupled with Boeing’s super-efficient products, provide customers with an unparalleled travel experience.
The Boeing-Oman Air partnership, nearly 15 years running, is a prime example of the valuable synergies that come from effective, well-coordinated international trade. As Oman and the U.S. continue to strengthen business and commercial ties, such as between Boeing and Oman Air, we will continue to expand the benefits of our economic partnership, and advances in technology.
The United States and Oman have enjoyed an active trade relationship for hundreds of years. Our original trade was seafaring and, since then, we have taken to the sky. With the Oman-U.S. Free Trade Agreement, a powerful tool marking our mutual reliance on and trust in each other, Boeing and scores of other U.S. companies have discovered the tremendous potential of the Omani market for trade and investment.
